Description
"

Significant for its single firing method, the Sial line included 27 individual pieces, a 20 piece breakfast set, 45 piece dinner set, 7 piece coffee set, jug with water goblets, and decanter with wine goblets. The colours manufactured were off-white, brown, green or grey celadon on a burnt-orange coloured background. The company originated as SIAL in 1965 when a group of three well-known professional potters, Gaetan Beaudin, Pierre Legault, and Bertrand Vanasse formed an association to sell clay and glazes to local potters. Gaetan Beaudin is considered to be one of the founders of the pottery craft revival in Quebec. Design Canada produced a case-study on the commercial stoneware dinnerware. The DX study collection includes ceramic mugs by Beaudin which he designed for Decor Pottery in Rimouski."
