"Hébert’s less well known bridge chair is a sculptural design with a striking black silhouette. The chair easily folds flat when not in use, and was sold as a set of five with bridge table or individually. It was published with his other designs in Mobili Tipo (1956), the chair design won an NIDC award in 1956. For over 20 years, Hébert designed many chairs for Siegmund Werner Ltd. of Montreal. This company, which initially manufactured ski poles, discovered Hébert’s work in a design competition sponsored by the National Industrial Design Council in 1951."
