"The Fox 40 Marine Product Line has two components: the Fox 40 Boat Safety Kit and the Fox 40 Water Safety Throw. The product line was initiated to address new Coast Guard regulations while expanding Fox 40’s presence in the area of water safety. The Safety Kit contains required equipment legislated for small watercraft: a pealess whistle, a floating waterproof flashlight, 15 metres of float rope, and a bailer that doubles as a container. It also includes an SOS mirror, safety instructions, international whistle code and instructions for a bow line knot. The aerodynamic Safety Throw aids the user to accurately throw 15 metres of high strength float rope to a victim stranded in the water, even in windy weather. As the bottle flies through the air, the rope within is completely payed out without knots or tangles. For the Safety Throw, blow moulding technology allows the production of a one piece shell at a rate of 2 every 25 seconds – a drastic reduction in labour and manufacturing costs in comparison to the standard throw bags manufactured by needle and thread industries. The product made its debut at the 2003 Toronto Sportsmen Show where it sold 1250 units in 4 days. With the introduction of the Marine Line, the company has gained significant market presence, improved its position as well as attracted new markets."
